Got this proc last month (my entire PC actually) from MDComputers. Haven't been disappointed at all with the performance may it be gaming or casual Blender renders. I've paired it with a MSI MEG Z390ACE MB and it OC'd this bad boy to 5GHz right out of the box with the (hardware tuner) enabled on the MB. Stable temps that never go above 65C with the Corsair H150i 360 cooler.

Chose the 8700K over the 9th Gens, the 8th Gen is no slacker. Pure bang for buck and the i7 9700K just didn't make any sense (temps and for a few FPS more)! I've settled it down to an ideal 4.7Ghz considering the overall life expectancy of unlocked procs. Will be delidding it down the line (Cyberpunk 2077) for that extra juice.

Going to buy for the first time

alright, apart from packaging from intel, this processor is a great one to go with.
I have paired it with z370 carbon ac motherboard with cooler master's liquid cooling, temperature are I get is around 35-40 at medium usage which reaches to around 50 at 4.6ghz.
havent oc'd yet!
so far so good.
will add detailing with some more months of usage and with oc'ing.
the packaging it comes with is just in a simple box, not as fancy to be expected like amd. however, some would still want it as you're paying some good amount for this processor.
got this one for 28300. Prices are fluctuating these days.

Bought these from MD computers online and i have to say coming from an i5 6600k , these chips performed so much better when gaming and multitasking. Can easily overclock to 5Ghz but since i prefer lower temps and quieter fans the stock settings were more than enough to help me breeze though my daily tasks. If you have the money , go for these, the 8700 if you are not planning to overclock. Or if you are on a budget get the i5 8400 which are cheaper or the i5 8600k. - Best i5 ever.
